Romeo
and Juliet's Romantic and Tragic Story
In the town of Verona there lived two families, the
Capulets and the Montagues. They engaged in a bitter feud. Among the Montagues
was Romeo, a hot-blooded young man with an eye for the ladies. One day, Romeo
attended the feast of the Capulets', a costume party where he expected to meet
his love, Rosaline, a haughty beauty from a well-to-do family. Once there,
however, Romeo's eyes felt upon Juliet, and he thought of Rosaline no more.
The
vision of Juliet had been invading his every thought. Unable to sleep, Romeo
returned late that night to the Juliet's bedroom window. There, he was
surprised to find Juliet on the balcony, professing her love for him and
wishing that he were not a "Montague", a name behind his own.
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell
as sweet." Romeo was ready to deny his name and professed his love. The
two agreed to meet at nine o-clock the next morning to be married.
Early the next morning,
Romeo came to Friar Lawrence begging the friar to marry him to Juliet. The
Friar performed the ceremony, praying that the union might someday put an end
to the feud between the two families. He advised Romeo kept the marriage a
secret for a time.
On the way home, Romeo
chanced upon his friend Mercutio arguing with Tybalt, a member of the Capulet
clan. That qurreling last caused Merquito died. Romeo was reluctant no longer.
He drew his sword and slew Tybalt died. Romeo realized he had made a terrible
mistake. Then Friar Lawrence advised Romeo to travel to Mantua until things
cool down. He promised to inform Juliet.
In the other hand,
Juliet's father had decided the time for her to marry with Paris. Juliet consulted
Friar Lawrence and made a plot to take a sleeping potion for Juliet which would
simulate death for three days. The plot proceeded according to the plan. Juliet
was sleeping in death.
Unfortunately, The Friar's
letter failed to reach Romeo. Under the cover of darkness, he broke into
Juliet's tomb. Romeo kissed the lips of his Juliet one last time and drank the
poison. Meanwhile, the effects of the sleeping potion wear off. Juliet woke up
calling for Romeo. She found her love next to her but was lying dead, with a
cup of poison in his hand. She tried to kiss the poison from his lips, but
failed. Then Juliet put out his dagger and plunged it into her breast. She died

The effects of acid soil
Soils with a pH of less than 7.0 are acid.
The lower the pH, the more acid the soil. When soil pH falls below 5.5, plant
growth is affected. Crop yields decrease, reducing productivity
Soils provide water and nutrients for plant growth
and development. Essential plant nutrients include phosphorus, nitrogen,
potassium and sulfur. Plants require other elements such as molybdenum, in
smaller quantities. Some elements eg aluminium and manganese, are toxic to
plants.
Nutrients become available to plants when they are
dissolved in water. Plants are able to take up phosphate, nitrate, potassium
and sulfate ions in solution.
The solubility of nitients changes with pH. In acid
soils (low pH), molybdenum becomes less soluble and aluminium becomes more
soluble. Therefore, plant growth may be affected by either a deficiency of
molybdenum or too much aluminium.
Both crop and pasture plants are affected by acid
soils. there may be a range of symptoms. Crops and pastures may be poorly
established resulting in patchy and uneven growth. Plant leaves may go yellow
and die at the tips. The root system of the plant may be stunted. Crops may
yield less.
Plants vary in their sensitivity to low pH. Canola
and lucerne are very sensitive to acid soils so do not grow well. Lupins and triticale
are tolerant to soils of low pH so they still perform well.
Land can become unproductive if acid soil is left
untreated. Incorporating lime into the soil raises the pH. Therefore, liming
soil can reverse the effects of acid soil on plants and return a paddock to
productivity

Convenience or Care?
When something
issued by someone, we say it has been consumed. We as consumers use many
things, both natural and processed. We consume more of the Earth’s resources
than other animals do and, as a result, we cause problems for the environment.
Like all animals, we need
clean air and water, food and shelter for survival. Unlike other animals,
however, we have certain “want”. These are items that are not necessary for our
survival, but that we want because they make our lives easier or more
enjoyable.
Environments claims that a
great deal of waste is created by both the production and the consumption of
these items or product. Disposable products, such a pens, take away food
containers, plates, shavers and cutlery, are made using the Earth’s resources.
When these products are thrown away, the resources are lost.
Another example of waste
is the unnecessary packaging on many products. The material is often not
recycled and used again.
Throwing thing away also
increases pollution. The amount of disposable plastic litter that ends up in
waterways is a serious problem. When this waste reaches the oceans, it can kill
marine life.
Industrialist counter
these arguments with their own point of view. They claim that consumer’s expect
to be able to purchase food which is attractively presented, prepackaged to
extent its life and easy to store. In a busy society, convenience is a
priority. Products which make life easier, era in demand. Industrialist argue
that they cater to this perceived need.
Packaging is also big
business and provides jobs for many people who might otherwise be unemployed
and a burden to society.
Environmentalist declare
that for thousands of year, people survived perfectly well with re-usable
products. However, people of the twenty-first century have become used to wing
in a ‘thrown-away’ society. It is up to each one of us to dispose of waste
products carefully, recycle as much as possible and to reduce the stress on our
environment. Think when buying pre-packaged goods and consider whether the same
products can be bought without the extra wrappings. Let’s make the best of what
we have.

Why
They Turn to the Sea
As the job opportunity is increasing limited on the
land, more and more young man are turning to the sea for a living. Some
of them choose to work on a ship only after they have failed to get a
job. However, many young men actually would rather work on the sea than on
land. In my opinion, there are several reasons that account for increasing
interest in persuing maritime professions.
Firstly, our country is made up of many
lands. We are surrounded by water. It is not surprising that many people have
growm to love the sea. In order to be able to spend more time near the sea,
they decide to work on it. Many of them spend their whole lives on the water.
Secondly, the many school dropouts in the
country as well as those young men who have just finished their education in
school are looking for jobs at the same time. Competition for jobs is
therefore great. Many fail to get work in office or factories, so these people
turn to the sea as a last resort.
Thirdly, some young men face problem at
home. They want to get as far away from these problems as possible. The sea
becomes a popular means of escape.
Finally, young people are naturally
advantageous. They love to explore new places. They enjoy the excitement that
comes with this. By working on a ship, they are able to travel far and wide.
Besides, food and lodging on board the ship are free. Thus , many young men are
attracted to maritime profession.

Interesting Way to Start the Year…
Well folks, it is a
new year.
2011
is officially upon us. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to blog yesterday
on 1/1/11. Had I did blog, I probably would have… ended up saying exactly what
I’m going to say today. Which certainly will be nothing intelligent.
As I said in my
previous entry, I spent my New Years in Atlantic City. I had a wonderful time.
Good times and good drinks with good people. That’s all you need to know.
Didn’t lose too much money. And I’m still alive. So, all in all, it was great.
But enough about me.
No, actually, let’s
stay on me.
Something extremely
fascinating and frightening happened to me last night. While at a friend’s
house, I suddenly realized that my right middle finger had a cut on it.
initially, it looked harmless, but upon closer inspection, I realized that the
red mark that I assumed was blood was inside of my finger. In
addition, there was yellow surrounding the cut.
I was immediately
concerned. The concern turned into panic when I noticed that the yellow was
spreading right before my eyes throughout my entire finger. I watched as it
spread from the fingertip towards the knuckle, and fortunately, it stopped
there.
However, it was still
extremely disconcerting as nearly my entire finger had turned a bright shade of
yellow. My finger looked like it belonged to Bart Simpson.
It has been 24 hours
since, and the discoloring has subsided, which is a huge relief.
In conclusion, it
seemed that my finger was bleeding internally. It was simply just bruised. But,
It was very odd for several reasons. For one, I have no recollection of
injuring my finger at any point in recent memory. I have no prior history of
vascular problems. Also, I experienced no pain during this entire ordeal. My
finger felt completely normal, despite the discoloring. It was a very bizarre
situation.
There probably aren’t
many people who are interested to know what my finger actually looked like. But
just in case there is one person out there, you are in luck! I have a
photograph:

The Zoo Job Story
One day a clown was visiting the zoo and attempted to earn some money by
making a street performance. He acted and mimed perfectly some animal acts. As
soon as he started to drive a crowd, a zoo keeper grabbed him and dragged him
into his office. The zoo keeper explained to the clown that the zoo's most
popular gorilla had died suddenly and the keeper was fear that attendance at
the zoo would fall off. So he offered the clown a job to dress up as the
gorilla until the zoo could get another one. The clown accepted this great
opportunity.
So the next morning the clown put on the gorilla suit and entered the cage
before the crowd came. He felt that it was a great job. He could sleep all he
wanted, played and made fun of people and he drove bigger crowds than he ever
did as a clown. He pretended the gorilla successfully.
However, eventually the crowds were tired of him for just swinging on
tires. He began to notice that the people were paying more attention to the
lion in the next cage. Not wanting to lose the attention of his audience, he
decided to make a spectacular performance. He climbed to the top of his cage,
crawled across a partition, and dangled from the top to the lion's cage. Of
course, this made the lion furious, but the crowd people loved it.
At the end of the day the zoo keeper came and gave him a raise for being
such a good attraction. Well, this went on for some time, he kept taunting the
lion, the audience crowd grew a larger, and his salary kept going up. Then one
terrible day happened. When he was dangling over the furious lion, he slipped
and fell into the lion cage. The clown was really in big terrible situation. He
was terrified.
Sooner the lion gathered itself and prepared to pounce. The clown was so
scared. He could do nothing and he began to run round and round the cage with
the lion close and closer behind. Finally, the lion could catch him. The clown
started screaming and yelling, "Help me, help me!", but the lion was
quick and pounces. The clown soon found himself flat on his back looking up at
the angry lion and suddenly he heard a voice from the lion’s mouth;"Shut
up you idiot! Do you want to get us both fired?".

separated to spoof which has main
element of funny thing. Actually the point of anecdote is the CODA (hikma),
what do the participants learn from the series of event in the story. The
following text is good example of anecdote. Take a look!
Snake in the Bathroom
How would you like to find a snake in you bath?
We had just moved into a new house, which had been empty for so long that everything was in a terrible mess. Anna and I decided that we would clean the bath first, so we set to, and turned on the tap.
Suddenly to my horror, a snake's head appeared in the plug hole. Then out slithered the rest of his long thin body. He twisted and turned on the slippery bottom of the bath, spitting and hissing at us.
For an instant I stood there quite paralyzed. Then I yelled for my husband, who luckily came running and killed the snake with the handle of a broom.
Anna, who was only three at the time, was quite interested in the whole business. Indeed I had to pull her out of the way or she'd probably have lean over the bath to get a better look.
We found out later that it was a black mamba, a poisonous kind of snake. It had obviously been fast asleep, curled up at the bottom of the nice warm water-pipe. It must have had an awful shock when the cold water came trickling down! But nothing to the shock I got! Ever since then I've always put the plug in firmly before running the bath wat.

Film Review
2012 is Roland Emmerich's film which uses the Mayan calendar and other end-of-days prophecies for their doomsday scenario. It imagines the world coming to an end in 2012.
2012 film brings off a series of wonders. The movie hits its peak early on. It starts when Cusack drives a limo through the streets of Los Angeles as freeways and skyscrapers crumble all around him from the shock of a 10.5 earthquake. The preposterous flying sequence is equally thrilling. The climax occurs aboard the giant ark, when an equipment malfunction almost threatens the entire mission.
Unfortunately, the crucial sequence is not filmed or edited with the requisite clarity. In 2012 film, Emmerich leaves us befuddled as to exactly what is happening to whom. However, Emmerich' 2012 deserves credit for offbeat casting. Cusack supplies his trademark hangdog charm. McCarthy has perhaps his best role ever as Peet's cocky. Danny Glover lends dignity to the role of the tormented president. Chiwetel Ejiofor, as the chief scientist, brings a moving sense of anguish to a stock role. Platt has fun playing the villain of the piece, and Woody Harrelson also chews the scenery as a bug-eyed radio prophet trying to warn his listeners about Armageddon.
All in one, 2012's cinematography, production design and visual effects are awards-worthy. Music also propels the movie. It presents American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, who provides a rousing anthem over the end credits.
